Working out is hard to do. It’s even more daunting when you’re a Mom. How do you fit it in? What’s the best workout in the least amount of time? Do these yoga pants have a built-in panty liner…’cuz if we are going to jumping around, I may spring a leak.
Answers to these questions and motivation to flex those kid-carrying muscles are in Kara Thom’s co-authored book, “Hot (Sweaty) Mamas: Five Secrets to Life as a Fit Mom”. To celebrate the release date of this book, March 29th, I am giving a copy away on my blog.
Here’s what you do to win this inspiring and realistic Mama-motivator of a book:
Leave a comment on this blog post. Share how you “fit” fitness into your life. If you don’t, share what would motivate you to take care of you.
I will pick a winner on Friday, April 1. Winner will be announced on the blog by midnight, central time zone. No foolin'!
In the meantime, check out this hilarious video with Kara and her kiddos incorporating fitness in the chaos of motherhood.
Ladies, you’re worth it. Put a spring in your step and enter to win!
I'm a mom of an almost-two year old boy who somehow seems to take all my free time these days (how all of you Mamas of multiple children do it, I'll never know!). I do attempt to get out for a run a few days a week, thanks to a very understanding husband! I enjoy Kara's site for her motivation (and laughter) so that helps too!

Hooray for you Wendy! It does help to have support and motivation. I have always searched out workout buddies. I need accountability! :) Thanks for your comment!

Not leaving a comment to win (that would be silly) just leaving a comment to say that YOU motivate ME, you crazy-cannonball-always smiling with boundless energy-happy mom!

I find that working it in comes and goes, in different ways. When #1 was young, I would workout in front of the tv with her "dancing" with me and going into her room to play. When I was finishing grad school I enlisted my girlfriends and we spent our 1-hr lunch walking (3 mile loop!). Last summer (when pregnant with #2) we went for long walks or I would workout to the tv with #1 coloring or playing play-doh on her table next to me. Now it's been much harder, but we go for walks as much as possible, even walking to pick up #1 from preschool (2 miles each way) if we can. While sometimes walking feels like not "enough," I know that it's doing more than sitting on the couch, and it also instills the importance of exercise to both of my kids. What I need is inspiration not to eat those peanut butter cookies I made (and I'm a Registered Dietitian!). :)
